About Us

Making well-being matter as much as marks

The Soul Care is a student-led mental health initiative founded in 2024, supporting Sri Lankan O/L and A/L students.

Our story

Sri Lankan students face significant academic pressure and often lack access to affordable, stigma-free mental health support. The Soul Care was created to bridge this gap - providing ethical, accessible, student-focused support through psychoeducation, peer listening, academic mentorship, and community engagement.

Since 2024 we've grown into a community of volunteers, advisors, and students who believe that mental well-being and academic success belong together.

Our vision

To empower every student in Sri Lanka to thrive academically and personally by making mental well-being as valued as academic success.

Our mission

The Soul Care equips students with tools, resources, and support to foster resilience, self-awareness, and balance. Through workshops, personalized guidance, and community engagement, we aim to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes mental wellness alongside academic growth.

Our core values

Empathy

We listen first. Every student's experience is real and worthy of understanding.

Accessibility

Support should be free, easy to reach, and stigma-free for every student.

Growth

We believe in every student's capacity to learn, heal, and flourish.

Education

Evidence-informed knowledge is the foundation of everything we share.

Resilience

We help students build the inner strength to face challenges and bounce back.

Student Empowerment

By students, for students - young people lead everything we do.

A message from our founder

“The Soul Care was born from personal experience. During one of the most difficult periods of my life, I needed support, understanding, and a safe space where I could openly talk about my mental health. Unfortunately, that kind of support was not easily accessible at the time.

The Soul Care is the promise I made to myself: that if I made it through those challenges, I would create the support system I once searched for, so others would never have to face those struggles alone.”

- Vinuri Ganegoda, Founder of The Soul Care
